3 Reasons Why Daily Journaling Can Help You Grow as a Writer
And how you can become better at journaling too
I have always kept a journal. But I have not always stayed consistent at writing in it.
Until around 18 months ago, that is, when I committed to writing in it every day. It didn’t matter what — just something.
Back in August of last year, I decided to start writing on Medium. My biggest fear around making the decision to become a regular contributor here was that I would not find enough new ideas to write about.
However, rather than procrastinating, within around three weeks, I decided to commit to daily writing and publishing, no matter what. Initially, I committed to 30 days of daily publishing and then extended it to 100.
The aim was to complete pieces daily. Suddenly, my personal writing habit had now grown into a public writing habit too.
Yes, it was hard in the beginning, but by Day 100, I was on fire and never stopped.
Many people have commented that I publish a great deal, so I thought I would share how my already-established journaling habit helped me to do so.
