As someone who never got into the pink plastic fantastic world of Barbies (probably because my parents realised it would become a very expensive black hole so they never ventured into buying Barbies), I went with a lot of scepticism. I was very pleasantly surprised by the messages the film was trying to convey…and succeeded at. Indeed, none of these messages were in the slightest bit subtle, and if people can’t understand the satire that gave the whole film the level of entertainment it demanded, well they obviously need a Simon Dillon talking to.
And to go and buy themselves a sweater that says “I am Kenough”.
