Does it not come from the Christian tradition that, in the West, is known as All Saints Day…

The holiday is marked on the first and second days of November, right after Halloween. But Dia de Los Muertos (or just Dia de Muertos) is not Halloween and should never be compared to that holiday. Still, costumes and dressing up are a part of the festival.

Does it not come from the Christian tradition that, in the West, is known as All Saints Day, following on from All Hallow's Eve, which originated from the Pagan holiday of Samhain?
