Gorgeous piece! It also reminded me of my own eldest daughter. She would also sit down with her favourite books at that same age and chatter away in her own language while "reading" the books. That love of books never ended. At age 7, she was bitten by a dog and we spent four days in hospital. I think we read most of the books in the children's hospital library in those four days.
