Great piece, Jessey! However selfish your decision, I applaud your bravery in making that decision.

Motherhood gives us a purpose and someone to love. I don't disagree that it is a decision that is driven by selfish desires, but they can vary greatly. And, if nothing else, I think it teaches a lot of women how to be more selfless, how to be less self-obsessed, and how to love unconditionally. It doesn't always work out that way though.

Equally, I respect (and slightly envy) women who made the decision not to have children and have the space and ability to love because of their childlessness. Again, it doesn't necessarily pan out like that.
