I am sure there are many whose lives, behind the facades, are a long way from true happiness. My sister worked hard to be the model daughter of our father and had a high-flying career, owns an ex-Cognac estate in France, and put her kids through private school. Beneath it all she had a crumbling marriage and house and kids harbouring deep resentment.
My life as a struggling creative and single parent seemed easy and harmonious in comparison.
