I don't know if it's that society creates loners. I would consider myself a loner because I have always - since being a small child - been extremely happy in my own company and with my own imagination. Life is exciting when I am left alone with the possibilities I can imagine. But I also can talk to people easily and be around people - though will often choose solitude over social events.
