I had someone comment that I was being irrational not paying for Twitter when I pay for Medium. I like paying for something that you get actual value for. Social media, on the other hand, is about having visibility. If I have to pay to play, especially when those blue checkmarks were there to verify real public figures against cloned versions by bots, rather than anyone who pays for the privilege, then I'm out.

If I can't find the people I want to see in my feed, I'll go elsewhere to find them!
