I have heard many such stories. A friend recently got sick with Covid symptoms and her PCR result was negative. Meanwhile, whatever she had, she managed to infect members of her family with, and they are now testing positive. Either there are significant inconsistencies with the tests or there are just so many similar bugs going round that no one knows the difference anyway.
