I have played a little with AI art but I don't know too much about it. My friend, an artist, created some designs by apparently taking what the AI tool had generated and making intuitive changes to get the result she wanted. I have no idea how she did that.

I began playing with it because I was looking for ways of creating a cover for a book without hiring a designer. I knew in my mind what I wanted and so I thought I might produce something more similar to that than someone on Fiverr would. The result was pretty good, I have to say.

However, I don't see it as a pastime to replace anything off-screen. Like you, I need creative outlets that involve no gadgets whatsoever.
