I recently had a similar experience. I wrote an essay about being the "weird" one at school and an old school friend read it via my share on Facebook and wrote me this amazing message, telling me that she saw me as exotic and kind, and she never understood why I chose her as one of my friends. Meanwhile, I thought of her as everything I aspired to be - beautiful, fun, and always humble.
