I remember watching this documentary years ago in which they interviewed different couples to measure what made a marriage "successful". The ones that had the least friction were the ones in which the woman was more submissive, let her husband make the decisions, and mostly remained at home being housewives. Thankfully, I think men have evolved (at least a little) in recent years. I'm glad you got out anyway.
