I see lying, for the most part, as something that children do fairly innocently. I am sure that if you thought there was danger in going to see the puppies, you wouldn’t have done it. That’s just pushing boundaries which every healthy and curious child does. And you felt emotionally safe enough to do so.
Sometimes lying is a way to try to escape trouble. Obviously, we learn it’s not the best way as we grow. The point is, I don’t think it should be seen as a bad thing but a healthy part of a child’s learning journey.
