…ing inside of me changed forever. I already knew I wouldn’t emerge from the cinema the same person. But then Spielberg did something I didn’t expect. In the final scene, the film switches to colour, showing the real-life Schindler Jews and their descendants in the present day, laying stones on his grave in Israel, alongside the actors who portrayed them. That absolutely floored me. To this day, I don’t think I’ve ever been so profoundly moved by a film.
