If the case of Israel followed international law that has applied to every other nation formed ever in the world, Israel would have been entitled to claim the existing borders (Sinai, Jordan river, and Syrian and Lebanese northern borders) as their own, after they defeated the Arab armies that attacked in 1948. Despite this, many Zionists support the peace accords which granted Palestine self-determination in specific areas and wish to work towards peaceful relations between two states.
