As time goes on, I feel as if I am moving further from my “coaching” life and more into my “writing” life. However, there is something that links the two inextricably, and that is the requirement to have a formula and a plan of some sort that helps you to forge a path ahead.

Why is it so important? For the simple reason that, unless you have a longer term vision beyond the end of next week, you are shooting into the dark.

In addition, it can be very easy to get hyper-enthusiastic about what you are doing right now, only to feel completely burned out and disillusioned once that enthusiasm has died down.

Think about it. How many articles do you come across every day or week in which the author complains about low views, low earnings, or that Medium is simply too much effort relative to the results?

These articles are not about Medium, the algorithm, the disappointing audiences, or the follow-for-follow opportunists. They are about the author and the expectations that they have laid thick upon their Medium journeys.

I write creative nonfiction essays and poetry. Rethinking life through my words. Sometimes too seriously, sometimes not seriously enough.
