I'm definitely going to check out all the articles you've linked at the end. As someone who was brought up in a household where swearing was severely frowned upon, I found liberation in my adult years with it, most especially artistic freedom, as you mention. It also showed me how suppressed my upbringing was, laden with judgment over coffee-drinking, alcohol-drinking and more, and ditching all of those stupid ideas made me happier than my mother has ever been.
