I'm sorry you have these regrets, Ellen. It reminds me a little of my and my mother's relationship. I would have to cut her off at times to protect myself. When I was around 27, I really wanted to show her I appreciated her and cared for her, but my efforts were thrown back in my face, because what I wanted to show her was simply something she didn't have it in her to receive.
