I'm trying to explain this to my son's friend (and business partner in their new chocolate business) at the moment. He treats their (unpaid except in chocolate) staff member terribly. Then again, she is his little sister. Oh well, he's only 11 so he has time to learn.

But joking aside (well, it's not really a joke, it's reality) that was a great piece and I'm glad you got out of that awful environment.
