My cousin has bipolar and his dad, my uncle, was also in and out of hospital for much of his adult life. I never heard a diagnosis other than 'depression' but I suspect it was the same. He was one of the most wonderful people I have known and miss him every day since his death in 2019. It's so sad to see these strong, kind, and gifted people so weakened and lost.
