My experience has been pretty similar to yours, Susie. after nearly 1.5 years, I now get good traction and a decent number of stories that find a big audience. I found that simply writing what comes to me rather than trying to find the "big earner" strategy works for me. I write what I enjoy and some of those stories then go onto do well, and that's good enough for me.
