Oh, my sweet, big-hearted friend. You are the best.

I so wish there were only two wars going on, but while the world was busy watching Gaza, Putin dropped a big one in northern Syria where there has been over 500,000 casualties during the course of the ongoing war there, and meanwhile, how many know about the 320,000+ deaths from the civil war in Yemen, or the massacres in Nigeria? Media or limited human capacity for compassion - I'd say one of those is why most of the world only thinks there are two wars going on.

But, saying that, it's okay to feel gratitude for what you do have. There is little we can do to help. Donating what we may spend on a new TV will do little in the grand scheme of things, and depending on where we donate, may still just end up funding Hamas leaders' lavish lifestyles in Qatar while 'their people' are being bombed. It's okay to be thankful for the relative peace we have in our lives.
