Sometimes Signs From the Universe That Everything’s Okay Are Everywhere
Or, today I’m choosing to hang with the birds rather than the bears
This morning, I found myself heading to the beach “at sparrow’s fart,” as some like to say here in the fair land of the King’s English.
Or bright and early, as other people prefer to say.
It was partly convenience that took me there, and partly opportunity. My daughter needed an early lift to go on a day trip to London with her college and so I brought the dogs and went to a nearby beach with a long stretch of sand to walk on and a few other dog walkers for some doggie playtime.
The early hour brought with it a sense of excitement and anticipation. None of the coffee shops had opened their doors yet and only those whose internal clocks were in tune with the sparrows and the early sunrises were out. And I felt as if I was there to find something.
What that was, I had no idea. But something.
I felt alive, and that must have been evident as I passed other people and our dogs interacted. I found myself drawn to other people looking vibrant with early morning joy.
