Thanks for your detailed response. Yes, Muslims had been established there since 12th century but even they achieved that through bloody means. Not that it justifies anything but it was a very large land mass for a relatively small population that included Jews and Christians back in the early 20th century. Just as we accommodate refugees in our much more crowded lands these days, it should have been overseen to make that possible. Personally, I am of the mindset that diversity enriches our lives and there was no good reason why the Arabs and Jews could not have lived peacefully on the land known as Palestine. The land was vast relative to the population.

Given the atrocities of WWII, I think it's hard to reasonably argue against the establishment of a Jewish State. With global peace being long-sought, I'm sure a lot more could have been done than was.
