I have been meaning to read the book, Conscious Capitalism by John Mackey and this reminded me of it. Have you read it? As far as I am aware it presents a very different view of the capitalist society and the good it can do over and above the theories of socialism. But I haven't read it, so I can't really say whether his theories and arguments are sound.
