This is a great question, Sieran.

I think any personal story can be relatable but it's how you tell it that distinguishes it between self-absorbed or written with the reader in mind. Not getting caught up on unnecessary details, keeping it truthful and to the point, and allowing yourself to be vulnerable will all keep it engaging - when you do that, there is a natural awareness of your reader.
