This is so lovely, Jackie. I relate to a lot of this. It's easy to feel that we may have our spirit sucked by the pressures of life but I also love that Emily is driven to create beauty in other ways. I have a friend who also left art for a career in plants, diversity and ecology. Yet she never really stops creating. It may be that Emily needs the grounding that working in a garden can give her. It may give her more choices too, and more knowledge and ways to further her creative energy.
