This is such a lovely piece.

It makes me remember a couple of treks I did in the Himalayas - one in the Everest region, to roughly the same height as the Everest Base Camp. From the foothills, it took over two weeks to reach that point. Walking for hours each day, dealing with altitude sickness and everything...and then you're only at Base Camp??? As in the base of the mountain? Yep, the concept of where it begins and ends is lost on me...
