New year, new season, new day, new hour,
each new moment I live,
I resolve to you
what I will do.

I resolve…

To climb more mountains, more boulders and trees,
to swim in more pools and rivers and seas,
to walk more paths, as yet untrodden,
and seek new sights, as yet unbeholden.

To stir more soups, more feelings, more fun
to rejoice in the rain as well as the sun.
To say more ‘thank you’s to generous souls
and be more gracious and humble and bold.

To bake more cookies, croissants and cakes,
and invite others to feast on my bakes,
to fill more teapots and hearts and cups
and bellies with food as well as with love.

To taste new flavours, sweet, sour and strong,
to hold more hands, loving and warm,
to share more kind words and hugs and meals
and wallow in the excessive joy we feel.

I write creative nonfiction essays and poetry. Rethinking life through my words. Sometimes too seriously, sometimes not seriously enough.
