This War Is Not and Never Was About Freeing the Palestinian People
To all those who think that supporting one side over another is about human rights — you’re wrong
As the days pass and the horrors grow ever more horrific in the Middle East, I see more and more people expressing their opinions and support for those suffering.
It’s truly horrendous.
What happened on October 7th was bad enough. It shook a country and stole innocent lives. No words can describe just how awful it all was.
But then you look at what has happened since; the attacks on Gaza by Israel are devastating. People, crowded into tall apartment buildings built side by side, being told to evacuate with nowhere to go. Even if the exploding of one of these enormous buildings doesn’t kill you, where do you go to shelter?
How anyone can justify putting civilians into such traumatic and deadly conditions is beyond me.
And then you can start to see why the great “Free Palestine” movement is on the rise again, and the support for Palestine over the far wealthier and more privileged State of Israel is increasing. Meanwhile people are highlighting again how the Israelis have stolen the land through force, displacing Palestinians, forcing them to live…
