This was so beautifully written, Sharon. And, honestly, it brings up fears about my own parents. My dad slipped on a wet leaf last year and slid down several steps. He was fine but I had to leave my daughter to look after my youngest all afternoon and evening to take him to A&E and it triggered a dormant infection which became very nasty. The whole experience has put me on edge.

So yes, please move somewhere warmer!
