As humans, we love to romanticize the past, but in this case it’s true. There was something simpler about being…home. Sharing a moment with someone. Writing notes or letters instead of texts. Talking on the phone and then being gone from one another until we met again. It seems so strange now. All we had was our thoughts of each other — and the mix tapes, of course.
