Thoughtful piece, Rodrigo. I certainly hate the idea of wasting my time preparing for something that may never happen so I am probably more like you in that sense. Still, somehow I imagine that if you were to undertake a relatively dangerous trip, you would at least do the preparation required and have safety measures in place. I get the sense that you value your life enough to do that (and your loved ones).
