Well, apart from the fact that I realised, since writing it, that 19 years was an over-exaggeration, it must have still been at least until my early thirties. The main reason I know that is because I barely used any supermarkets for years, at least in the U.K. So it wasn’t so much penance but opting out of supporting corporations in general. The other supermarkets didn’t get much business from me either. Balancing finances and kids’ appetites changed it all I am afraid!
