Well said, Suzanne. I thought about writing a similar piece. Art is so not the right target for such demonstrations. Art is a necessary means by which the climate problem can be communicated. There are so many other ways to express what they are trying to express.

Not only that but if you look at demographics of art-lovers, i.e. the people who are likely to be witnessing these demonstrations, they tend to be among the better educated and more aware, and are likely already doing more than the average person to lessen their carbon footprint.
