Thanks for this wonderful piece, Maria. Your poor daughter - that pulled at my heartstrings when those eggs were put there purely to tempt the children. It reminds me of a girl I knew as a teenager who stole £10 from another girl in school, merely to try to teach her a lesson because the girls she stole from was always telling everyone how wealthy she was and flashing her money around. Of course, that didn't work out and my friend was expelled from her school for doing that. The good thing that came out of it was that she ended up coming to my school and I got to be friends with her. She was a great person!
