What It’s Like Living With Too Many Children and Dogs

And why it’s best not to choke down your frustration.

I had made it!

The bathroom was finally free and I was able to sit on the toilet and do what a girl needs to do.

But then came a knock on the door and my mind went into battle with itself over how politely (or not) to respond.

Not really. I didn’t give it any thought at all.

“Fuck off!” I shouted.

Peels of laughter came from outside the door. That wasn’t what my niece was expecting.

I sat there on the toilet, also shaking with laughter. There, that felt better! To say exactly what I was feeling and not hold back.

I mean, for goodness sake, how else does a girl get a bit of peace in her life?

What’s it like living with too many children and dogs? I’ll tell you.

For starters, you reach the point of shouting “Fuck off” to the air and laughing hysterically.
