Wow how crazy re the houseboy. But yes, there is this element of knowing that, as decent people, you can actually make someone's life better by employing them and ensuring their family is also taken car of. After our houseboy died, I know my dad did a lot for the family, including covering costs for the younger children's education.
I have a feeling your daughter will follow in your footsteps. Two of my three were as determined and voracious. The other had no confidence in herself and is now being screened for dyslexia, after years of it being denied by her teachers at school.
