Wow, reading this now is almost painful. The fact that you wrote this four years ago, before the last nine months of antisemitic hell broke out, is significant. No matter how 'good' the intentions of the world at large, the Jew thing never really calmed down. I even find that when people learn that I am Jewish not only from my Israeli mother's side but from my father's side too, it's almost like they adjust their thinking and reassess what that makes me, and what they are dealing with. Not that it's necessarily in a negative way, but it changes their perspective of me nonetheless.
