Wow! You touched a few nerves, then?
I remember reading a hilarious article on The Guardian some years ago, a brilliantly satirical piece that mocked the self-appointed grammar police on social media. The best thing was that most people reading the article could recognise themselves in these grammar police - the cringing whenever you see the awful mistakes that people make, and those moments when you just can't hold back from saying something.
I get a lot of friend requests on Facebook from people self-promoting their personal brand and I have started just deleting the ones who write these long, 'professional' posts full of the typical your/you're/there/their/they're mistakes. Partly because I am a stuck up English Literature graduate and can't be bothered with 'professionals' who won't even use a spell-check, and partly because I can't bear to even look at posts full of these mistakes.
